Youth leader missing!
MISSING: Linus Constantine
MISSING: Linus Constantine

A search is currently underway for a young man who has been missing for about two weeks now.

Missing is Linus Y. Constantine, chairman of St. Lucia Youth talk and former student of the Leon Hess Comprehensive School.

Relatives have just begun to circulate ‘missing posters’ of Constantine via Facebook. St. Lucia News Online is not yet able to confirm if the matter has been reported to the police.

Constantine’s sister, Mindy Chicot, appealed for information via Facebook.

“If anyone has been in contact with him or has seen him recently please inbox me with details or contact me on telephone number 285-5066. Please any information would be useful,” Chicot said in her Facebook post.

In response to Chicot’s social media post, several persons have advised her to contact the police regarding the decomposing body that was discovered on the Marisule beach in Gros Islet on Tuesday, April 15 about 2 p.m. The body is yet to be identified.

Police said the body, which is that of a young male, was found covered with a sheet by a female passerby.

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF), in a statement, had appealed to persons who may be missing a family member or a friend to contact the Gros Islet Police Station.

“Persons with information that can assist with this investigation should also contact the Gros Islet Police Station at telephone number 456-3830,” police said.

  1. I remember meeting this kid in August of 2012 by a beach bonfire. He was stranded and ended up crashing on my couch. He was quite a brilliant and inspiring young man. I pray and hope that he is somewhere alive and trying to get back home.

  3. How you mean people , the crime that a country faces is because of lack of employment .cost of living is to high the poor or the less privilege can't afford his or her need leads to crime wrong doing so government has a lot to play in it they are the watch dogs of the country , call the police they saying they have no vehicle to come to a 911 call so how would you think after that government of labour when ever they in power is pure wicked they doing first he put Levi on used cars know 18% vat on a country with no resources its only resource is sea water and sand .but some day some how.

  4. All will say on this matter is that I truly hope that this young promising life is not lost and he is not the one who's body was found at Marisule. I remember seeing Linus at youth parliament and I was so impressed with him. My heart goes out to his family, friends and community. I do hope that he is alive.

  5. You ppl are so judgemental. If the young lady's brother had his own life. It have been normal for the families not to connect for two weeks or more. Then she must have decided she has to report. Damn fools...idiots !

  9. I Just don't get it,when your love one or anyone in general is not seen or heard of after forty eight hours you got to notify the police. What was the family doing? Did they call a search party to go out looking for him? Two weeks is a mighty long time blame you all selves unless you all know he went overseas.

  10. Thats sad, to think you dead and your own family is not doing what they surpose to what a shame.

Chances of sloving a crime in Lucia is slim to none farless after two weeks. If it is him may his soul rest in peace.

  11. The boy has been missing for 2wks. and nobody saw it fit to call the police? An unidentified body has been found for over a week and the police is pleading for some form of identification and instead of going to them it is big headline news on FB. Sometimes I wonder how some people think. Now the Govt. is being blamed. What next.

  13. To those who continuously blame or defend the government, I want to give my views on that issue. It is ridiculously to blame a govt for a missing person. However, with regards to crime, don't you believe that a continuous increase in unemployment will automatically cause an increase in crime? I know of parents encouraging(situwa)their daughters in prostitution and their sons into drugs trafficking because of the unemployment situation. I am not condoning it but it is a reality, which in my honest view is the govt responsibility. They don't send them to do it but can cause them to do it. Sad, but some parents believe it is the only way out for them, who have commitments.

  15. I'm a St.Lucian, however, sad to say but St.Lucia must have the highest ignorant people per capita in the world.Everything is Government and you'll only comment on negative things in our country, when positive things are posted on St.lucia online news there are hardly comments. Remember Jah nah sleep so if is negativity you'll like is that you'll will get.

  16. Remember the family put it on facebook that only shows they don't read or listen to news so they don't know about the body/s found. They don't know what's going on in the island.

  17. OK. A young man is missing/dead.....whatever, and is Kenny that cause it? Almost everybody in St. Lucia today, especially the youth(Some of them), appears to be in a hurry for what reason.... your guess is best (the get-rich-quick syndrome). This is what is being translated into recent illicit drug menace, internet fraud, immorality, alarming rate of child incest, homosexuality, armed robbery, indiscriminate killings and indiscipline all over the place. In such situations, all what we think about is our right to survival........ and blame government for everything that goes bad. Where are the values we once had? U damn right Krisa G....this country has gone down to the dogs......... and who are the dogs?....Who are to be blamed?.....WE.

  19. Is there any more doubt that Kenny Anthony is a disaster on crime? Let's have a review of the many alien and unresolved disappearance of looshans. And god forbid this young man too. Is there anything that Kenny Anthony have told us on crime that is worth listening too?
    Kenny Woye! Chu Paz Garson!
