This year’s Yoplait Walk organized once again by Consolidated Foods Ltd. kicks off from Mega J to Pigeon Island at 6am.
Over 2000 persons are expected to be in attendance; pledging their support to the event while winning exciting prizes.
Now in its seventh year, the walk which is organized to raise funds for breast cancer awareness and treatment continues to receive tremendous support from the corporate sector.
Last year $50,000 was donated to the National Community Foundation as a result of the campaign.
This year’s campaign theme “Friends in the Fight” has resulted in some new partnerships, which means added incentives for those walking, running or riding as part of the event.
Over forty prizes will be raffled for those who register.
The walk will culminate with “Men in Heels – Dash for Cash” a campaign by the WAVE to highlight breast cancer in Men.
The event will take the form of an ‘obstacle course race’. Participating men will race for the cash at the finish line, by completing the entire obstacle course in a pair of heels (minimum of 3 inches).
All funds raised from the Yoplait Cancer Campaign will be donated to the National Community Foundation and Faces of Cancer to assist women who are affected by the Cancer and require assistance with treatment.
