WLBL recognizes the achievements of women for International Women’s Day

(PRESS RELEASE VIA SNO) – Windward and Leeward Brewery Ltd. (WLBL) through its Strongbow Apple Ciders brand has joined the World in recognizing and celebrating International Women’s day.

With the increase in awareness and an international movement for women’s rights, equality and justice, the company wanted to reward women of St. Lucia island wide with Strongbow Apple Ciders to share and enjoy responsibly with friends.

“We have seen or even been part of the movement with the #metoo and #timesup campaigns that have brought greater awareness to a multitude of issues women face in today’s society around the world including sexual harassment, equal pay and equal rights. At WLBL, we have female employees with diverse backgrounds, breaking traditional male dominated fields in Brewing, Engineering and Safety. These women are paving the way for the next generation and we as a company are proud to support their career aspirations and provide avenues for further development” stated Fayola Ferdinand, Corporate Relations Manager.

This year, the company formed strategic partnerships with local telecoms companies, radio stations, 2017 Green Synergy Champion X Factor, Dj Ti Boog and the Castries Mayor’s Office to celebrate this day specifically geared towards highlighting the achievements of women in today’s Society.

“Our celebration was island wide, which culminated with a Strongbow Secret Garden at the Derek Walcott Square where we rewarded all women who stopped by with a Strongbow Zero. They even had a chance to win a six-pack and enter the draw for a grand prize of a spa day for four. The great thing about our Strongbow brand is that we have products with both alcohol and no alcohol, ensuring that we provide options for our consumers to enjoy our beverages responsibly” Concluded Ferdinand.

Congratulations to all Women for International Women’s Day!
