St. Lucia News Online (SNO) understands that the frog’s “throat” was eventually slit by a vagrant and the paper with the words “Saint Lucia Police Witness Statement” was found.
The police officer’s name and rank (PC 707 Eldin Antoine), the date of the letter and a signature, were visible on the paper.
“The frog was cut by the throat and the statement removed,” a source said.
Photos obtained by SNO earlier this afternoon showed a visible slit mark underneath the frog’s head.
The frog was discarded in a drain. The whereabouts of the alleged witness statement is unknown at this time, but SNO understands that police officers were on the scene shortly after the discovery was made.
