Accused of damaging the vehicle of a man who disarmed him during a dispute with a woman, a man from Wilton Yard’s, Castries begged the court on Friday, April 6, 2013 to pay for damages instead of going to trial.
“My Lord if you could give me time to pay, I willing to pay,” said Orlando Kelvin William, who is charged with damage to property.
According to court records, William was involved in an altercation with a female on June 30, 2012, when the complainant intervened, took a cutlass from the defendant and walked away from the area.
Minutes later the complainant responded to a shout to find William damaging his vehicle.
Damages to the car included a broken wind screen, broken mirrors and glasses in all four doors were broken. The cost of the damage is more than $4,000.
In a statement following his arrest, William stated that he was “vex” at the time of the incident.
William will return to court on June 6, 2013 for a report on his indictment.
