BBC – James Pattinson took 5-27 as Australia beat the West Indies by an innings and 212 runs in the first Test in Hobart.

Australia wrapped up the victory in three days after dismissing the tourists for 148 in the second innings.

Playing his first Test for 18 months, the Pattinson ran through the fragile Windies top order to secure his fourth five-wicket haul in Test cricket.

Kraigg Brathwaite was the only visiting batsman to show any resistance at the Bellerive Oval with a patient 94.

Australia take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series, and could return to the top of the ICC Test rankings if they complete a 3-0 series win with victories in Melbourne and Sydney.

  1. With DAVE CAMERON AS PRESIDENT.we should not expect anything better...the players are not motivated at all
DAVE THE WI CBC is not your personal toy so behave as though u are just a worker and bring us back to our GLORY DAYS

  2. This just a group of players from different countries, mostly islands. Who cares? No country lost any face because of the loss. It has been like this since Jamaica broke up the makeshift WI Federation. No remorse or recriminations, just the facts. Only the individual players stand to gain or lose. People are still suffering from the ruinous comical investments they made in the cricket tournament, egged on by clearly clueless politicians. What a waste of time that was! Some politicians are not builders. They just destroy, lives, investments, and entire countries. This region has seen quite a few.
