The tourists have absolutely nothing to smile about after being completely outclassed by the Aussies again on day two at the MCG. Their bowlers were pummeled and their batsmen were embarrassed to continue the horror show that is their tour of Australia.
James Pattinson started the rot after the Windies top order made a solid start in reply to Australia’s monster first innings total of 3/551 when he delivered an electric burst of reverse swing bowling shortly after tea.
He had the ball ducking back in sharply and trapped Rajendra Chandrika and Marlon Samuels LBW with similar deliveries, proving his injury concerns and re-modelled action are no longer annoying him too much.
Nathan Lyon was outstanding as well. Brought on inside the first 10 overs by Steve Smith, the off spinner had the ball on a string.
