On Saturday, VBCC edged Canaries 75-74 in a close evening opener at the Vigie Sports Complex.

Marcian Calderon had figures of 29pts and 9rebs for VBCC. He was aided by Nigel Butcher with 13pts and 7rebs. For Canaries, Durocher Antoine had 21pts, 8rebs and 7 assists and Larry Shepherd 17pts and 14rebs in their loss.

The Dr. Freezers Player of the Game was Marcian Calderon with his tally of 29pts and 9rebs.

In game 2 at the Complex, defending champions Courts Jets went back to winning ways following their first defeat in six games to get past Babonneau Dynasty 84-70. Andre Louison continued his great performance in this year’s tournament with a game high 29pts and 8 rebs for Courts Jets.

Keegan Preville also had an impressive double double of 16pts, 13rebs for the Jets. For Dynasty, Owen Cazaubon had 16pts, 9rebs and Mervin Augustin also had 16pts and 4 rebs to in that game. Andre Louison was named the Delirius Bar and Deli Player of the Game.

Also, on Saturday in Soufriere in Division 1 action, ISE got past a hostile crowd to win 62-50 behind another strong performance from Gabriel McFarlane and keep their unbeaten streak so far in Division 1 basketball. Gabriel Mc Farlane was the Dominos Pizza Player of the Game in that encounter.

On Sunday April 14th, Game 1 in Micoud featured a Division 1 game between home team Micoud Hustlerz and Combined Schools. Micoud edged Schools 58-57 with a narrow one point win.

At the Vigie Sports Complex, the first game of the night resulted in a win for Morne Gladiators over Babonneau Dynasty with a final score of 75-73. Kevin Lesporis had a strong performance of 20pts and 9rebs and was ably aided by Gillan Octave with 20pts and 9rebs for the Morne.

For Dynasty, Mervin Augustin had a huge 27pts and 7rebs and Lester Jn Charles had 16pts and 9rebs in their loss. The Valley Cold Storage Player of the Game was Kevin Lesporis for the Gladiators.

In game 2 of the evening at the Complex, Dennery won another close game on the weekend 66-65 over VBCC Warlords. Veteran player Desmond Vidal again led the scoring for Dennery with 28pts and 7rebs.

Kevin Mathurin also contributed 11pts and 3rebs in that game. Marcian Calderon also had an impressive double double of 24pts and 14 rebs for VBCC. And Elijah Williams scored 12pts and grabbed 3rebs. The Delirius Player of the Game was Desmond Vidal for another strong performance.
