Prime Minister Allen Chastanet has pledged that his government will not rest until they deliver on the promises they made during the election campaign.
Chastanet made the announcement via his official Facebook page on Sunday, March 25.
Chastanet said he didn’t seek office to maintain the “status quo or to simply boast, many years from now, that I once held the position of Prime Minister”.
“We all ran for office because we believed and still believe in the potential of our country,” he said.
He continued: “And we will only rest when we deliver on the mandate that you gave to our government – for we believe that it is only through the execution of our vision and plans which underpin this mandate, that our Fair Helen can achieve its full potential, can achieve economic prosperity and social justice and ultimately, can achieve a prosperous and progressive Saint Lucia for the benefit of all.”
The prime minister’s statement was accompanied by a group photo of members of his government.
