Micoud North MP Dr. Gale Rigobert said she is deeply concerned about the severe water shortages in neighborhoods within her constituency.

The MP said that Patience, La Pointe and Mon Repos have been adversely affected by these shortages over the last three and a half to four weeks.

To date there has been no comprehensive plan by WASCO to rectify the situation and provide relief, Dr. Rigobert told St. Lucia News Online (SNO) today.

According to her, two tanks were installed in the past few weeks, but she finds it “grossly insufficient” for members of these communities.

Dr. Rigobert has since advised WASCO to develop a rescue plan, to help address the situation. She wants more tanks erected and the existing ones replenished.

The Micoud North MP is also urging residents to be economical in the use of water supplied to them.

Last week WASCO was forced to shut down the water supply in the Micoud area because of contamination, restoring services on Sunday evening.
