Water truck overturns

A water truck capsized into the unfinished section of a house in La Croix, Maingot Sunday night.

No one was injured and the driver reportedly jumped out of the truck. The accident occurred about 10:30 pm.

The truck was reportedly on its way to provide relief for residents in communities in and around Anse La Raye/Canaries who have been without water mainly due to the Christmas Eve flooding.

The muddy and wet conditions of the road have been blamed for the accident.

An eyewitness said: “I saw the truck skidding down and just capsized. The driver tried hard to keep it on the road but no hope. The driver jumped out. 5000 gallons of water is being wasted right now and I need water.”

  2. Please the kind souls at Wasco. I know you'll working hard to alleviate the problems but we at balata need water desperately. Today already Monday we need water. At least send it for a few hours so we can full some empties, do some laundry and take a proper bath. Just a little comfort we asking for not much. That will be greatly appreciated.
