WASCO releases statement on systems interrupted by inclement weather

Dear customers: The following systems have been interrupted due to the inclement weather:

Grace
Desruisseaux
Aux Leon
Derniere Riviere and
Thomazo

In the north of the island the status of water systems is as follows:

At Hill 20 the system is off as the Talvern, Marquis and gravity intakes are all heavily silted. Crews are waiting for the river levels to drop so they can proceed to restore supply. We are unable to say exactly when this will happen. As a result, all areas supplied by the Hill 20 Treatment Facility are without water, including the whole of Babonneau, Upper Monier, Plateau and La Bourne.

The levels at the John Compton Dam are at a maximum and, except for the Millet Gravity Intake, which is clogged, all systems supplied through the Theobalds Treatment Plant are operating as normal.

Notwithstanding, there might be a few isolated problems in some localities.

WASCO crews are working hard to restore the areas that have been affected, and we’ll update you on the situation.

As always, WASCO apologises for the inconvenience and thanks you for understanding.

Regards,
WASCO Communication
