Veterans Football Competition results

PRESS RELEASE – Four matches were played as two double headers took place Saturday and Sunday at the Marchand Grounds as the 2014 veterans Football Tournament organized by VIS, Veterans in Sports Inc and Caribbean Alliance continued.

Saturday evening Micoud and Caricom Masters played to a one all draw while Behind the College All Stars and Nyah played also to a one all draw.

Last night Anse La Raye who were semi finalist last year continued their heavy scoring in the competition.

After drubbing Desruisseaux 8-2 in their opening encounter they again scored heavily last night getting the better of lancers FC Five goals to one.

It was the second heavy defeat for Lancers FC after a 7-0 drubbing at the hands of the Dennery All Blacks last weekend. Lancers FC have conceded 12 goals in two matches while only scoring one.

In the second match last evening Mabouya Valley’s veterans made it a good day yesterday for Mabouya Valley Football as they won 3-1 over Prophets and Kings.

Mabouya Valley yesterday having qualified for the SLFA Super League Inter-district finals.

Matches in the tournament will continue this coming weekend at the Marchand Grounds.
