Vehicle plunges into Bannan Bay

A man sustained minor injuries early this morning (Sat., Sept. 28) when his car (PK 892) plunged into the sea at Bannan Bay in La Toc, Castries.

Reports are that the driver, the lone occupant, is believed to have fallen asleep behind the wheel.

The accident occurred at about 5:30 a.m.

Meanwhile, an eyewitness told St. Lucia News Online that after the crash a man was seen taking away items from the car.

“He was believed to be a thief. He was stopped by a port police officer,” the eyewitness said.

  1. Thank God he is ok. hensce the fact drivers have to be more careful on the road.. if you are sleepy pull over and get a little shut eye for a couple of minutes. its saves lives.

    • Whilst I totally agree with pulling over for a few minutes, the way crime is here one may be very reluctant to take that chance, so I guess it's damned if you do, damned if you don't...either way, your life is at risk.

  2. It looks like a white submarine to me. These people need to slow down on the damn roads. Luckily no one was hurt with this one.
