Women in Action (WIA) wishes to congratulate the newly elected political leader and executive of the United Workers Party.
WIA is especially encouraged by the presence of seven women on the national executive including our own WIA President, Edith Petra Jeffrey-Nelson, along with the following:-
Dr. Gale T.C. Rigobert – Deputy Political Leader
Mary Polius – 1st Vice Chairperson
Leonne Theodore-John – Elections Officer
Inista St. Marthe – Welfare Officer
Gertrude George – Trustee
Antonia Lana Auguste – United Youth President
We are confident they will provide ample representation for the women of the United Workers Party and without fear or favour, take policy decisions on all issues which directly affect the women of our nation.
This 37th Annual Convention of the United Workers Party was unprecedented in that WIA had the opportunity to provide five delegates who participated in the election of the National Executive. In effect, for the first time, the women of the party under this umbrella had a voice.
The members of WIA are encouraged, energized and look forward to working with our newly elected Political Leader Allen Chastanet and the entire executive in making our party, the UWP, a beacon of light and hope for all Saint Lucians.
We pledge to work arduously with the Party to alleviating the many issues adversely affecting women. We are confident that the challenges facing woman will feature prominently in deliberations as we move forward united and strong.

Let me see u'll win an elections and bunch of losers on an executive.....
