The United Workers Party Soufriere/Fond St Jacques Constituency Branch greets with much humor the desperate attempt of the SLP Soufriere Constituency Group through their August 28, press release to shore up the battered image of beleaguered Parliamentary Representative and Minister of Social Transformation, Local Government and Community Empowerment Hon. Harold Dalson.
This in relation to occurrences during the ceremony for the opening of the Soufriere Bridge held on Friday, August 23, 2013.
We wish to offer advice to the SLP Soufriere Constituency Group that they should use their energy and efforts instead to cause the Government of Saint Lucia to release the un-edited footage of the ceremony which should be stored at the Government Information Service.
Residents of Soufriere and the public who were not present during the ceremony in question may be confused by the accusations and counter-accusations over the past days. All will agree therefore that the release of the un-edited footage will erase any existing doubts and confusion among Soufrierians and Saint Lucians altogether.
The Soufriere Constituency Branch of the Labour Party and the Government of Saint Lucia should have no reason to deprive the electorate of the opportunity to arrive at their own assessment and determination based on viewing the un-edited footage of the ceremony.
