The United Workers Party in response to calls from Saint Lucians has taken the decision to more forcefully address the crippling effects of the SLP Government’s current social and economic policies over the past nine (9) months.
As part of this effort the UWP has launched a series of public political meetings throughout the island to discuss with Saint Lucians a number of issues of major concern to the electorate that have serious implications for our national development at this time.
The first in this series of meeting will be held in the west coast town of Soufriere this Thursday, 13th, September, 2012 commencing at 8:00 pm adjacent to the St Lucia Coconut Growers Association Factory.
During these meetings the leadership and members of the party will speak with Saint Lucians on the untimely implementation of VAT and the worsening economic conditions since the St Lucia Labour Party assumed office among other issues. The public is called upon to turn out in large numbers to express their disgust with the failed policies of the Government which have resulted in increasing hardship to Saint Lucians from all walks of life.
The UWP will use these meetings as an avenue to demonstrate to the Kenny Anthony Administration the widespread dissatisfaction of Saint Lucians in their failure to fulfil their glamorous election promises and deliver on their promise of “better days”.
