(NEW YORK DAILY NEWS) — A baby boy was beaten so badly by his dad that doctors thought he had been killed in a high-speed crash, reports said.
Ky’mir Williams was 4 months old when he died in a Milwaukee hospital Friday after being taken off life support the same day he was put on it, reported WITI-TV.
Now Ramel Echols, 28, is behind bars, arrested when he could not provide an explanation for the baby’s wounds.
The infant was “throwing up blood and milk,” the boy’s father told the child’s mother in a phone call, according to a criminal complaint obtained by WITI.
She told him to call 911, but he waited, and then eventually took the boy to the hospital himself, WITI said.
The baby’s injuries were “consistent with an injury seen in a high-speed motor vehicle accident,” WITI said, quoting the court documents, with “bleeding on the brain” and “bruising to the abdomen.”
Echols faces child abuse and neglect charges, with homicide not far behind, WITI reported.
