The two-day conference—which commences at 9 am—will be attended by a range of regional and international stakeholders including, urban planners and other sector experts.
The objective of the conference is to generate and share knowledge and experiences relating to resilience-centered policies and strategies for revitalizing urban centers and improving land management and housing affordability and sustainability.
The conference is also intended to enhance the capacity of the Government of Saint Lucia to identify and implement policy options that would mitigate the risk of exposure of urban infrastructure, including housing, to adverse climate change effects and other natural disasters.
The participants of the conference will also discuss the New Urban Agenda, to which Saint Lucia is a signatory, and key strategies for its implementation across the region.
The two-day workshop will seek to sensitize stakeholders in Saint Lucia on the need for implementation of the new Urban Agenda with a view to identifying key actions for implementation.
