  1. Sad news and no matter what any one says on this board it does put a fear in you regarding future trips to the island. I love St.Lucia but hearing this news scares me. Whenever I watch St.Lucia news online somebody chop, hang, mashup, shot...and this is really happening, no one's making it up. Just don't expect to hear this kind of news from back home. Sympathy to the family.

  5. It is for that reason that we should make an effort to leave a life that we are ready to meet our maker any time we do not know which one of us is next.please let us accept JESUS as our LORD and savour. There is nooo peace is we did not have a relationship with the King of peace . I am not talking religion I am talking salvation. RIP for christians is Rest In Peace BUT for those who did not know GOD it is Repent If Possible. Dont believe me google near death experiences and decide for your selves or just check Matthew Mark Luke and John ...new testerment and see how much the Lord Jesus warn about hell.

  6. It is quite obvious that SOMEBODY on that boat called those guys to come shoot their enemy. The police should confiscate everyones phone on that boat & check the bbm or any history between the boat ride & the end.Rumor has it that a certain individual on that boat was already shot during carnival,so it's no secret there who the intended target was.Put 1& 1 together & ask him who is enemies are & you get a few potential suspects BUT most of all find the informer on the boat who alerted these guys to come do their shootout.

  11. This is a human tragedy. Right now we need to provide support for her friends and family. As a society we need to take a long realistic look at what causes these tragedies and work collectively to put a stop to it.

Now is not the time for FUD (Fear Uncertainty and Doubt). All these people who are scared for the lives of their children, what is this country coming to..blah blah blah, and are so afraid of coming back home...Stop. Saint Lucia is not perfect but we are far from a Somalia or Lebanon (mid 80's). We have problems just like everywhere else but to exaggerate the problem to make our fear justified is silly at worse and unproductive at best. We are on a global stage. People read up on us and comments like these paint an unfair negative image of the country. Statistically, you are more likely to get hit by a car than get shot. Concern is fine but fear is unwarranted and does nothing to improve the problem. We owe Krystal, and the countless victims before her, not our half empty robotic monotone condolences and our outraged dwindled to indifference after a few weeks, but a promise that we will not let a preventable tragedy like this happen again. That no mother will cry for her son or daughter. No family will feel the helplessness when justice has failed them. That is the best way to honor her memory, no grandiose speeches or half hearted calls to action but with action.

    We owe her that.

  12. My sincere condolences goes out to the family, my heart truely breaks... It always pains me to see young persons die.

Death has no age limit, one minute you there next u are gone.
What we now have to do as young persons is to get our selves ready for when death comes...
It is time for us to get to know and have a close relationship with our maker/creator/Jesus Christ. We need to pray and study the bible.
Time for us to plead the blood of Jesus over our lives...
    Stay Blessed

  16. Sorry, but as a St.lucian leaving in the UK, I am soo speechless for words right now!!!!!. Day by day, I just wonder how safe is it to take my young children to my mother country???????

    • Worse things happen in other countries and yet we still visit those places. Take for example the United States of America, where the many dysfunctional and psychotic people do shootout at malls, schools, etc...and yet still we find ourselves in that same USA. Stop trying to make your own country look so terrible to the outside world. I am sorry for the family of the young lady, and may she rest in peace, and may perpetual light shine upon her always.

  19. I heard about this shooting last night, said "how sad" checked on my brother, who always on some boat ride or the other, and went to bed.
This morning, my brother came in about 7am and said the name of the deceased... Lord I was more than shocked, I? was speechless for a while and then I wanted to scream and rail, how could it be someone I know, and so well! Why is she touched and taken by the tragedy of this shooting. In front of so many of her friends and family!

Debbie, Christine, seems like I have known you all my life. You are like an extension of my family... I am truly deeply sorry for your tragic loss.

I have no real words other than to say I am sorry and I hope that they catch those responsible soon.... the sooner the better.

Rest in Peace Krystal. Be the Xotic bird that you are in the here after.
