He was granted bail in the sum of $6500 cash or land surety.

His bail conditions include not interfering with Florton or her immediate family and reporting to police every Wednesday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Joseph is also required to surrender an identification card, since according to is mother, he does not have a travel passport.

  1. You do know that if this was a different country that same 18 year young man would be going prison for a very long time. He has issues which need sorting please people keep your children away from him.

He is 18 and the girl is 15 there needs to be some laws around proctoring young people. Having sex with a miner and then trying to kill her.KMT

  2. our young men need to be taught how to handle their emotions/feelings - too many boys are showed that being a man means being "big and bad" - the boys need to be hugged jus as the girls - our daughters need to learn to love and value them selves as princesses and not jus another woman in a man's life - too many times girls are showed the way to keep a man is to "open-up" to all/any man - from time they children enter secondary school is man/woman they concentrating on - the teachers are aware of it all and jus talk bad about the kids instead of being LEADERS/GUARDIANS -

  6. We all know what will happen. Some of us will die and some of us will forget by the time this case is finished, It is amazing that we have and have had so many lawyers in parliament and yet still our judicial system is so bad. They now claim to tourism and financial experts whiles our society is being destroyed. SMH. I hope we NEVER have lawyers in gov't again.

    • What are you on about? He stabbed her 11 times. Blame him and his parents for not having control of his anger.

    • I've said it time and time again. Regardless of the situation, no one have a right to physically abuse another, let alone this level of violence. This young man had a choice. He could have walked away.

    • i tend to agree with the initial commentator and also with the others. i always knew that the girl knew the guy from the start, you're 15 for christ's sake what are you doing with a man! secondly, guys look for girls your'll age leave the school children alone and start thinking of ways to deal with 'go pwel' VIOLENCE IS DEFINITELY NOT A SOLUTION TO ANY THING!!!!!

      • I think the fact the man was 18 years old and the girl is 15 it shows that a 15 year is influenced by behavior. But for an 18 year old man to date a 15 year old show issues its not normal nor the norm to do so. Dating older men can lead to grooming and sexual behavior a young female may not understand.
If abuse is an issue then this needs to be addressed in the educational system looking at areas around

        sexual behavior
        respect
        self a stream
        confidence
and what is grooming because there are all different types.
        Abuse

The government should give me a job LOL
