UPDATE: Road works at Mongiraud

By Department of Infrastructure, Ports and Energy

Before and after.

(PRESS RELEASE) – The Department of Infrastructure, Ports and Energy wishes to apologize to the public for the inconvenience caused during the execution of road works at Mongiraud on Saturday, September 9th and Sunday, September 10th, 2017.

The Department of Infrastructure through the contractor C.O. Williams Construction(St Lucia) Ltd undertook the necessary road works to facilitate the removal of hardened concrete, and resurfacing of this section of road.

Hardened concrete along the Mongiraud Hill created a reduced width of carriageway and also caused an unsafe and uncomfortable drive.

The Department of Infrastructure, has noted with alarm the spillage of concrete on a number of inclines on our road network. Therefore, the Department kindly reiterates to all parties involved in this unlawful act to cease from this practice, as it poses a hazard to vehicular traffic and pedestrians.

Again, the Department apologizes for any inconvenience which may have been caused during the execution of these works.
