Following the untimely death of 15-year-old Jasma Josephine Lubin on Boxing Day, friends speculated on social networking site Facebook that the teen may not have killed herself as she showed no strange behaviour leading up to the incident.
However, a post mortem examination conducted on Lubin’s remains on Thursday, December 27, 2012 revealed that she died as a result of “ligature hanging”.
Police Press Officer Aniel Innocent revealed the results of the post mortem this morning.
Police said Lubin was discovered by her father Andy Lubin “suspended by a rope from her bedroom ceiling” on Wednesday, Dec. 26 at her home on Bridge Street, Vieux Fort.
Lubin, a form three student of the Vieux Fort Comprehensive Secondary School, was transported to St. Jude’s hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
A note “for her loved ones” was also discovered by the police officers who responded to the report at about 2 pm, according to a police press release.
Investigations are continuing.
