Following the untimely death of 15-year-old Jasma Josephine Lubin on Boxing Day, friends speculated on social networking site Facebook that the teen may not have killed herself as she showed no strange behaviour leading up to the incident.

However, a post mortem examination conducted on Lubin’s remains on Thursday, December 27, 2012 revealed that she died as a result of “ligature hanging”.

Police Press Officer Aniel Innocent revealed the results of the post mortem this morning.

Police said Lubin was discovered by her father Andy Lubin “suspended by a rope from her bedroom ceiling” on Wednesday, Dec. 26 at her home on Bridge Street, Vieux Fort.

Lubin, a form three student of the Vieux Fort Comprehensive Secondary School, was transported to St. Jude’s hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

A note “for her loved ones” was also discovered by the police officers who responded to the report at about 2 pm, according to a police press release.

Investigations are continuing.

  2. While its hard to 'feel sorry' for her, I do sympathize with the family whom are left to deal with the heartbreak and expense of burying their CHILD. Keyword, CHILD. These kids do not want to follow rules, respect authority or be accountable for their behavior. Why the heck is a 15 year old staying out overnight without her parents' consent? And then to be angered to the point of taking your own life as retaliation for being disciplined? Come on folks, no judgment here, just going with what was reported. She obviously had some serious other issues to resort to taking her life due to getting whipped/punished whatever. Its sad, but hey, at least she went alone...

  4. Comdolances to the family. Death no matter how it comes is never easy to deal with
What happen to the people of vieuxfort, once compassionate and caring community, this family needs or prayers, not negative comments. Only this poor soul and God knows her problems, let's all get together and pray for her soul and the family she has left behind they now have to face life alone with their grief

  5. I do feel sorry for herself and her family..what we lucians need to realise is that not everybody handles a situation the same way..some of us are stronger than others....and not everybody we see laughing are truly happy...so stop judging each other...only God can judge us..

Why don't u say put urslef n her shoes u don't know the stress that she held back da pain dat she hide an sorrow that she bared an again had no one to trust an turn to as her mom was not dere to her her out an hold her an comfort her we lucians are to quick to judge others. Why don't we think positive instead of negative. What if it was u or a family what would u do an say?? She's not the first an not the las to do it? Come on people are you serious is that how u gonna treat it an again its because of people lie u guys our young people go this way cuz we are to quick to judge an act before thinking an don't take time out to lend a helping hand !!!!!

  7. Some of you Lucians are completely stone-hearted. While the taking of one's own life is never the answer to problems, but who are you my good Christians to condemn this child, and feel no sympathy? This is a terrible tragedy for her family and all people with a heart.

I am sure that these same unsympathetic Lucians are the small-minded, church-going, Jesus loving La-ja-bles hypocrites without-sin, and a people who abuse the vulnerable youth in their charge, just like they love throwing hot water on stray dogs and cats – sickening!!

    • who are you to judge ...you don't know that one save is truly save god doesn't take back any gift he gives to his children so if she was save she will be discipline by god

    • Son of Helen, You seem very versed in what happens in the afterlife. Have you been there before, and when did God appoint you as a judge. Be wary of your own mortality and spirituality and not that of others. Get off your high horse because it is people like you who make it difficult for others. Judging people does not say anything about them, but it sure speaks volumes about you!

  9. U know sometimes u feel a lil down and u say 'i killing myself' to loved ones just for sympathy... just so someone could listen to u and comfort u. I think it was just a cry for sympathy taken too far. Maybe she expect to be found in the act. Idk I just don't see why this young lady would want to die to avoid a scolding from her dad. Guy must feel really bad now. Smh. Rest in piece young life...
