PRESS RELEASE – A post mortem examination was conducted upon the body of Cletus Edward, a thirty nine (39) year old resident of Goodlands, Castries, who succumbed to injuries sustained during a domestic dispute, on Sunday, April 9, 2017.

The post mortem examination, conducted by Dr. Heather Emmanuel, revealed that Cletus Edward died as a result of cardiac tamponade secondary to stab wound to the chest.

An individual remains in police custody reference to this incident. This was the twentieth homicide for the year 2017.

    • The quickness in which some individuals can act on their rage or paranoia is of concern in St Lucian society. Act in haste and repent at leisure!

    • It is tragic that a domestic dispute resulted in killing. However, more men than women inflict violence which results in death. Of the murders commented recently: patricide, fratricide and homicide are male related. Whatever the gender, there must be a better way for individuals to handle their differences without resort to killing. This takes EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE, and in the heat of an argument it deserts most individuals. To be meek, to walk away is often seen as weakness and no one wants to be seen as a victim.

  3. The unemployed and under employed are about 30% of the population. So with 120,000 it will be o.k.
