UPDATE: Escapee believed to be armed and dangerous – police
Sylvester Augustine Des Rivieres

The police is seeking the assistance of the public to recapture a Barbadian national who escaped from the Rodney Bay Police Station on Sunday, Nov. 24 after being charged with possession of firearm, assault and threats.

Police said 37-year-old Sylvester Augustine Des Rivieres escaped lawful custody about 4:45 am.

Reports are that Des Rivieres, who was staying in Monchy, Gros Islet, was reported by his girlfriend for allegedly threatening to shoot her.

Augustin was also charged with assault of a police officer. He was arrested on the firearm possession and threats offences on Nov. 20, police said in a press release.

“If anyone has seen the accused or knows his whereabouts, please contact the Rodney Bay Police Station at 456-4061/62 or the nearest police station.

“The RSLPF warns the public that if they have sighted this individual, do not approach as he is believed to be armed and dangerous,” police said in the release.

    • Pissing in our eyes and calling it rain chooops. How the hell could you have a prisoner who would be potentially armed and dangerous escaping lawful custody? was he assisted in getting away I have to ask. Why was the holding area that he was housed in not properly secured? Security was to loose and I am sure no one will be held accountable for his escape. This is Saint Lucia where we are happy

    • A group of poor islands playing which one is superior? Really?
A group of islands who relies in tourism to survive?
What an idiot's way of thinking.

Bananas are known to be uncouth..hence why their tourism industry has failed and SLU has taken over....Pride comes before a fall...didn't they treat a JA woman in the worst inhumane manner ever? But expect others to treat them like Angels when they show blatant disregard to our SLU laws?

They are playing with the wrong people..and certainly our RSLPF won't play with their ass.
