St. Lucia News Online (SNO) received reports that the bus driver, Jahanne Best, is from a Desruisseaux address and he normally plies the Vieux Fort to Castries route.
The status of the other passengers and details of the accident are unknown at this time but SNO will update you with more information as soon as it becomes available.
This road fatality follows that of the Gros Islet Highway incident on Saturday, February 16, 2013, at about 7 p.m. involving a collision between a black motorcycle (registration number PJ3860), driven by Sherwin ‘Poleman’ Maynard of Caye Mange, Gros Islet, and a white Toyota Mark II motor car (registration number 6003) driven by Errol Isaac of Summersdale, Castries.
Maynard was pronounced dead on arrival at Victoria Hospital. Both vehicles received minor damages.

The first road fatality took place on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at about 9:25 pm when a white Toyota Corolla motor car, registration number PD1700, crashed into utility pole on the Micoud Highway killing the driver and lone occupant of the vehicle, 29-year-old Wayne Francis aka ‘Like a Boss’ of New Extension, Micoud. Road accidents is the number cause of deaf to our people, and i see the government taking any action to help prevent this. They should be mabe imposing tougher laws in the country and bring in maybe speed cameras to maybe help all these accidents.my condolences goes out to the family
If dying, becoming a vegetable, becoming paralyzed isn't enough of a deterrent, what could the government possibly do?? Lucians get angry when given a ticket for not wearing their seatbelt
My life feels empty without you here
My husband, our jay
I don’t know how to go on without you here
You were always the strong one
I feel like I’m in a nightmare
This isn’t real, it can’t be
You can’t have left us, you can’t be gone
How can life go on without you here?
I feel empty and my heart has broken
How can people laugh and joke
How can life be so unfair?
You were an amazing daddy
A Wonderful husband
A strong brother
A devoted and dearly loved son
I’ll be thinking of you always
And I know everyone else will too
We will miss you and grieve for you
But I know life will go on
But we’ll always remember you jay
Life will never be the same again
You always loved to be the star of the show
So I know in my heart where you’ve gone
I know you’ll be the biggest and brightest star
And I’ll look there when I need you jay
I’ll look up to the stars at night
And try to find you there
Maybe someday I’ll wish upon a star again
And someday, I’ll join you there.
i dnt even know him but these words bring tears to my eyes ...sorry for ur lost may he rest in perfect peace
HYPOCRITE.
Every road collision can be avioded, if we think of "what if?" when we drive, there will be little or no fatal road collisions. Drive safely be cautious on wet roads.
Every vehicular collision is preventable. When we drive we need to think " What if?" and we will surely have little or no road collisions.
Only one injured passenger. Jim also from des/eaux
IT IS HEART BREAKING TO HEAR OF THESE FATAL ACCIDENTS. IT IS MORE SHOCKING ESPECIALLY WHEN IT HITS HOME. IT BREAKS MY HEART TO HEAR OF YOUR PASSING JAYANNE. R.I.P.
Tragic. But if everyone took care on the road these things would be preventable. Too many cowboys on the roads I'm afraid.
Desruisseaux will never forget you. A young life cut short.
R.I.P. Jayanne
That looks horrible. May he rest in peace and quick recovery to the injured passengers.
omg! RIP.
Our hearts go out to the Best's family
May the lord strengthen u in your time of loss
