(SNO) — A young man who was shot by a security guard in an alleged robbery attempt at Valley Cold Storage at Cul De Sac, Castries during the passage of Tropical Storm Kirk last September, has succumbed to his injuries, according to a source.

Kyle Clement died on Friday morning, November 2, the source said. He was in his early 20’s.

It is alleged that at least three males, armed with machetes and sledgehammers, broke into the “cold storage container” on September 27 while the island was under a ‘tropical storm warning’.

A security guard reportedly fired shots in their direction after he was allegedly attacked, hitting Clement.

Emergency services responded at 11:48 p.m. and Clement was transported by ambulance to Victoria Hospital with a gunshot wound to his neck.

He was admitted in critical condition.
