The woman, who was injured in the accident in Savannes Bay, Vieux Fort yesterday afternoon at about 2:10, was scheduled to undergo surgery.
According to sources, she suffered massive internal injuries and bleeding. Though her injuries are serious, sources say she is expected to recover fully, providing there are no critical complications.
Reports are that the woman lost control of a grey, four-door pickup vehicle which careened off the main road and slammed into a light post.
She was the lone occupant of the vehicle.
The damage was so severe that – based on photos – her right arm hugged the light post and the wind screen was nowhere to be seen.
