Two southerners to meet in SLFA/VIZIONS Under 21 tournament

unnamed-7PRESS RELEASE – The two southern teams of Vieux-Fort South and Soufriere will meet each other in the finals of the SLFA/VIZIONS Under 21 tournament.

The two teams earned convincing victories against their opponents on Saturday night at the Marcellin Grounds in Vieux-Fort.

In the first game of the evening, sulphur city boys of Soufriere, easily defeated Marchand by 4 goals to nil. Demetri Modeste and Edmund Alcindor, sent Soufriere into the half with a 2 nil lead, and Jordan Henry and Lurick Simon converted in the second half to end the game 4 nil.

The second encounter saw two highly spirited teams eager to get to the finals. Both teams squandered some opportunities and so the half time score was nil all. Right on the commencement of the second half,  coming off the bench, Antonio Joseph found the back of the net for Vieux-Fort South, but this lead was short-lived as Dervon O’Brian found the equalizer for Vieux-Fort North. However, the night belonged to Antonio Joseph who found the back of the net 3 more times to score 4 goals. Nyrone winter finally sealed the fate of Vieux-Fort North with the 5th goal, thus ended the game at 5-1.
