Two impressive wins for St. Lucia on opening night of Creole Boxing

St. Lucia registered wins in the 81 kg light heavyweight novice division and in the Open Elite 75 kg middleweight division.

The St.Lucian  winners last night were Leroy James in the 81 kg lightheavyweight Division and Arthur Langelier in the Open Elite  75 kg middleweight division.

James making a return to the St.Lucia National Boxing team after a few years absence had a unanimous points win over Rodolphe Villeronce of Martinique.

In the final bout of the night Arthur Langelier a three time defending creole games middleweight champion stopped his opponent Sebastian Dixit of Guadeloupe in the first round of the encounter after some vicous body blows and uppercuts had his corner to throw in the towel.

Several of the other St.Lucian boxers will be in the ring tonight as the championships enters the second night of a three night championship among them Lyndel Marcellin, Ian Auberto, Kareem Boyce and Ron Bastien.

St.Lucia were creole games boxing champions for  2013 and finished second in 2014 after losing  out to French Guyana by one point.
