(SNO) – Two French St Martin residents who were suspected of having the coronavirus have been tested as negative.
The two had returned to the island from vacation in L’Oise, France on February 28.
Late Sunday the French regional health agency, Agence Régionale de Santé (ARS) in Guadeloupe confirmed the tests were negative.
However, two people remain in isolation at the Louis-Constant Fleming Hospital in French Saint Martin after they were tested positive for the dreaded virus.
The two are parents of a person who was also tested positive in St. Barthélemy and who remains quarantined at home.
The three, plus one positive case in the Dominican Republic show that the virus, which originated in China, has now reached the shores of the Caribbean.
