Two-day “cooling off” period starting tomorrow – NWU

Friday, October 19 – The management of Caribbean Manufacturers Limited (CARIMAN Ltd) and the National Workers Union (NWU) have agreed to a two-day cooling off period effective October 20, 2102.

The plant will remain closed during the period while the management of CARIMAN Ltd and the NWU decide on an accepted spread of the 10 percent offer by the company that was accepted by the NWU.

The parties agreed that the employees will be paid during the impasse, a decision management expects that the Union will accept as a negotiating gesture.

All workers will be informed of the re-opening of the plant via the news media.
