(PRESS RELEASE) — As preparations continue for the successful hosting of Assou Square 2020, all is in place for the cultural showpiece.

The event this year is supported by PCD Distribution, Busta Chill and telecommunications giant FLOW and is being hosted by the Castries Constituency Council.

Assou Square is a family-oriented event featuring a wide variety of activities including performances by Solo Groups, Steel Pan, Calypsonians, Masqueraders, Soca and Dennery Segment Artistes.

In addition, a children’s play zone with toys, bouncing castles, traditional games and cartoon characters will create the perfect ambience for children.

Assou Square 2020 will also feature the Terry & Eustace Bob Project with Terry and Eustace Bobb of the Ark Band of Ohio and the Xtreme Band.

The event will be confined to Bourbon, Brazil, Laborie and Micoud Streets respectively, while Constitution Park and the William Peter Boulevard, will be sites for side attractions.

The activity will run from 2pm – 11pm on January 1st and 2nd, 2020.

According to the Press and Communications Manager within the Office of the Mayor, Mr. Jason Hullingseed, “All is in place for the staging of this year’s event. The two-day event remains a family affair supported by all and we wish it continues along that trend. We believe that a lot more can and has to be done to keep the event alive, however we will work with what we have to keep St. Lucia’s premiere calendar event festival, a rich traditional commemoration hosted as a new year’s fair focused on children.”

Assou Square 2020 is set to create an experience which the entire family will love and enjoy.
