Trinity Lutheran Church is opening an Early Childhood Education Center at Bisee in Castries.
The opening of the school in September will facilitate the need for proper early childhood education centers and children’s ministries in Saint Lucia. This need is why we decided to bring this service to the community and Saint Lucia.
We are currently enrolling children from the ages of 2 ½ to 5 years. Regular preschool hours will be from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm, but we are offering an afterschool program that runs from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
Children’s ministries have long been a priority at Trinity.
Pastor Tom Spiegelberg says, “Children’s ministries in churches are usually the first programs to get cut when offerings and money are tight. Children’s ministries generally do not generate offerings. But when Jesus told Peter to ‘feed my lambs,’ he was talking to the church. And he wants us to teach our young children about what Jesus has done. The truth is, the message of Jesus Christ is only one generation away from dying out in any culture. And if we don’t ‘bring up our children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord,’ we won’t have Christians in the next generation. Children’s ministries are worth every bit of effort that we can give them.”
Trinity Lutheran Church was established in 1990 in St. Lucia. Trinity Lutheran Church exists to LEARN God’s Law and Gospel (MIND), LIVE for God’s purpose (BODY) and LEAD to Christ (SOUL).
Trinity Lutheran Church has built its first building in Bisee. It has plans to complete the sanctuary and begin construction on a sports court. TLC Child Early Childhood Development Centre will open this September.
Trinity Lutheran Church is affiliated with the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Church, an international church body headquartered in the United States. Trinity has sister churches in Antigua and Grenada. The Lutheran Church is a Christian church believing in the Triune God. It is one of the oldest Protestant church bodies in the world today.
TLC Early Childhood Development Centre is based on the philosophy that:
Each child is an individual with unique gifts and abilities given by God.
God gives parents the primary responsibility for nurturing their children.TLC assists parents in nurturing the growth of children in a Christian environment.
The child develops best in an atmosphere of Christian love, care, trust, and respect.Developmentally appropriate experiences provide children with “hands-on” activities that further their spiritual, physical, intellectual, emotional, and social development.
We believe in educating the whole child – playing to children’s strengths while exposing them to new ideas so that growth and learning may occur.
Faith – Our faith in Jesus as the Saviour will show in all we do.
Hope – We believe that each child can and will succeed.
Love – We will provide a safe, structured, nurturing learning environment.
Excellence – We will hold ourselves and the students to consistent, high expectations.
Partnership – We will partner with parents/guardians, schools, and the community to help the participants learn.
