(TRINIDAD EXPRESS) — Police Commissioner Gary Griffith defended the use of camouflage gear by himself and specialised officers of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS).

Speaking to the Express via phone, Griffith also expressed concern that civic action group Fixin’ T&T, led by businessman Kirk Waithe, appears to have fastened itself to him as he attempts to fulfil his mandate to the population.

“It is not a violation,” Griffith said, referring to grey and black camouflage uniforms—some pinned with insignia not included in the TTPS dress code—being worn by himself and members of the Special Operations Response Team (SORT).
