(NEWSDAY) — A teenage boy was talked out of attempting to jump from the La Horquetta walkover this morning thanks to the work of two good Samaritans, the police and members of the emergency medical response team.

Newsday understands the boy climbed onto the walkover at around 9 am.

People in the area saw him and called the police who attempted to talk him out of it.

One driver, Rennie Brathwaite-Phillip, stopped his car and asked the police to speak with the teen.

Newsday spoke to Brathwaite-Phillip who said he tried to relate to the boy on a personal level.

“I have a teenage son so I could understand how it is.

“I wanted to talk to him and keep him focused on us and not his problems. I’m just happy it was resolved,” he said.
