(TRINIDAD EXPRESS) – POLICE are searching for a taxi driver who sexually assaulted a 16-year-old girl near a church on Monday.

The teenaged girl and her father reported the attack at a police station in the South Western Police Division.

The victim was taken for medical treatment for her injuries.

The fifth form pupil told police that around 3.30 p.m. she and another person boarded a white Nissan Almera.

She said that the vehicle was driven by a man of African descent, dark brown in complexion, slim built, and he appeared to be in his early 20’s.

She recalled that the driver had a scar resembling a slash on one of his eye brows.

The victim said that along the journey, the other passenger dropped out and she and the driver were alone in the car.

Instead of taking her home, the man drove into a dead end road opposite a church, where he sexually assaulted her.

After, he dropped her in front of her house and sped off.

The girl told her father what happened and he brought her to the police station.

WPC George is investigating.
