Trinidad: Man charged with killing ex-cop

(TRINIDAD EXPRESS) – A MAN is expected to appear in court today charged with the New Year’s Day murder of retired police officer John Ramkissoon.

The 29-year-old suspect is expected to appear in the Chaguanas Magistrates’ Court.

Ramkissoon, a father of four, was stabbed to death during a lime at his home at Gopaul Trace, Palmiste, near Longdenville.

He was stabbed on the face and head at least ten times.

His family said he had been drinking and liming with the suspect when an argument and a fight broke out.

Ramkissoon, who worked as a police officer for 30 years, was one of five people killed on New Years’ day.
