(TRINIDAD EXPRESS) – A 35 year old man who allegedly sexually assaulted his 12 year old daughter when drunk will go to court on Tuesday.
The five offences of sexual penetration for which he is charged allegedly occurred during two separate incidents last year and this year.
Police said the victim’s parents are separated and the alleged offences occurred when she visited her father and grandmother.
The grandmother and father live in separate houses next door to each other and when the child visited she would stayed at her grandmother’s house, police said.
However on two occasions after the father drank alcohol he took the child to his house overnight when the offences allegedly occurred.
The victim recently confided in her grandmother, who informed the mother.
A report was made to police and the suspect was interviewed by officers of the Child Protection Unit.
The suspect surrendered to officers on Sunday.
The charges were laid by WPC Hull.
