Trinidad: Busted by the coast guard, with ammo, ganja

(TRINIDAD EXPRESS) – Four men aboard a pirogue transporting marijuana and ammunition were arrested by the Coast Guard on Monday.

At around 11p.m. the Coast Guard stopped a vessel on the north coast and took into custody two teenagers from Matelot and two men from Arima ages 22 and 29.

The officers say they found 20 boxes containing 500 rounds of 9mm ammunition and 46 packages containing marijuana weighing 27 kilogrammes.

The marijuana has an estimate street value of about $270,000.
