The Cultural Development Foundation invites students, families and community members to experience and participate in the annual traditional lantern making workshops commencing Saturday in Laborie.
The Laborie workshops run from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 pm, followed by workshops in Castries, starting November 16 at the Cultural Development Foundation, Barnard Hill.
The goal of the workshops is to educate and create understanding of culture and traditions and at the same time produce personalised paper lanterns which lantern makers will use to participate in the lantern competition and carry around during the lantern parade on December 12 for the annual Festival of Light.
The workshops are open to all members of the community from teens to senior citizens. Pre-registration is required to ensure participants will have access to materials to build lanterns.
