Toxik Nation Carnival band Operations Director Camron Laure has tendered his resignation effective July 8, 2015 citing a lack of transparency and accountability.

“I am disappointed with the level of transparency and accountability by those I refer to as the hierarchy of the band and many other issues which I will not get into,” he said in his resignation letter.

Laure said his resignation is not only due to a lack of transparency and accountability, but he believes that his credibility was also being compromised.

Laure is a police officer and the head of the Police Welfare Association.

“I have made the decision to resign from the post of operations director and further to disassociate myself with the Toxik Nation Carnival Band with immediate effect. I would also like this decision to reflect on the Facebook page of the band in the same manner I was introduced,” he added.

Laure said he would have been glad to make a meaningful contribution in bringing some form of reveler confidence to the band. However, he noted, “While I was made operations director, my involvement was a far cry from that title.”

  5. bobol in band (and carnival) has been going on for too long, I am so happy that finally a young person has spoken out. I would like to offer my support to mr. Cameron Laure and thank him for looking after the interests of revellers. My monthly salary is what I have to pay for costume and party favours, cheapest band is five hundred dollars and you have to make your own costume.

    • The name speaks for itself. Hope politicians can take a word from Mr. Laure's sentences. Wondered when some revelers would see that some carnival bands are another way for the not-so-smart business minded people to rob you people of your $1200 monthly salaries.
