Touring United top Cacao in Babonneau T20

(SNO) — Touring United will play Cacao in the grand final of the Hon. Ezechiel Joseph National Lotteries Authority Babonneau Super 40 Competition on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at the Des Barras Playing Field.

Touring United earned their right to the final with a comfortable 77-run victory over Babonneau U-19 on Sunday April 21, 2019 at the Balata Playing Field.

Touring United, who were invited to bat first, were bowled out for 215 in 31.2 overs. The main scorers for Touring United were Akeem Auguste with a stylish 60 that included 3 fours and 5 sixes and Dwight Thomas 59 with 6 fours and 2 sixes.

Quaine Henry with 5 for 29 in 4.2 overs and Sanjay Hayle, 2 for 26 in 6 overs, were the pick of the bowlers for Babonneau U-19.

Chasing 216 for victory and a spot in the final, Babonneau U-19 folded for 138 in 25.3 with Dane Edward and Jerry Remy being the main architects of their demise. Dane Edward bagged 4 for 35 in 4 overs and Jerry, 3 for 11 in 4 overs.

Caleb Thomas continue to lead with most runs in the competition, scoring another half century, this time a responsible 54 with 5 fours and 3 sixes. Vidal Cradon also chipped in with 24 but Babonneau U-19 fell short by 77 runs.

The final match will be preceded by the third-place clash between Des Barras and Babonneau U-19 on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at the Des Barras Playing Field.

The prospect for two mouth-watering clashes as the curtains will come down on the 2019 Hon. Ezechiel Joseph National Lotteries Authority Babonneau Super 40 on April 27 – 28, 2019 at the Des Barras Playing Field.
