Total Construction sponsors football tournament for South Castries and Roseau Valley


PRESS RELEASE –
The South Castries and Roseau Valley Youth & Sports Councils will on Sunday, October 19, 2014 launch a major football competition at the Marigot Playing field.

For the first time the two councils will collaborate on a project in which eighteen clubs will participate. From South Castries: Goodlands, Choppers, Evolution, Bays, OBLA, Ciceron, Trois Piton, LEAP and Soccer Soldiers and from Roseau: Marigot, Dominators, CT Foundation, Millet, Morne D’Or, Sarrot, RV Juniors, J’Connection and T’Valley.

Total Construction Supplies Ltd, a lumber and hardware supplies company located on the Marigot Highway, will be the main sponsor for this football tournament.

Mr. Timothy Mangal, managing director of the company, believes his company’s involvement in this competition will foster closer ties between the two sporting districts, and is delighted to be part of this football program, knowing the impact that football is currently having on the St. Lucian population after witnessing the atmosphere which exist during major football tournaments, and is hoping that this competition will have a huge impact on the eighteen communities involved, and is very happy with the level of organization shown by the two councils.

Mr. Sylvaris Elcock, president of the Roseau Valley, believes that this competition is here at a very opportune time, and this partnership with Total Construction Supplies Ltd will bring in much needed financial assistance to the district and will showcase the wealth of footballing talents.
Mr. Leslie Jn Baptiste, 1st vice president of South Castries, welcome the sponsorship and believes that this collaboration of the two council signifies the ability of Football to unify communities and promote community togetherness.

Activities will begin with the opening ceremony on Sunday from 12:00 pm, where the Eighteen {18} teams will assemble in the Total Construction Supplies Ltd parking lots and will march to the Marigot Playing Field; there the player will be address by the Minster of Youth and Sports Hon. Shawn Edward; Lyndon Cooper, President of St. Lucia Football Association; Mr. Robert Lewis, Parliamentary Representative for South Castries and Mr. Timothy Mangal, Managing Director of Total Construction Supplies Ltd and sponsor of the competition.

The Competition will officially commence after the ceremony with a double header,
at 2:pm Goodland Fc – Choppers FC
at 4:pm Sarrot Scorpion Fc – Rv Juniors FC

Matches in the South Castries/Roseau Valley Youth and Sports Council/Total Construction Football Competition will continue every weekend with one game on Saturdays and double headers on Sundays, and will last about four months.
