Toastmasters international conference kicks off in St. Lucia tomorrow

For the second time in four years, St Lucia will be host to the Toastmasters International District 81 Conference slated for October 17-19 2014.

The conference will be held at the Royal St. Lucian & Rex Resort Hotels, under the theme “Creating Connections, Building relationships through Toastmasters”.

The conference will include a series of high quality educational workshops by world renowned speakers and presenters, an opening ceremony, a Gala dinner and awards ceremony, networking and social events and the highly anticipated Humorous Speech and Evaluation contests.

In addition to the many delegates who will be attending from 20 territories throughout the Caribbean, St. Lucia will welcome and play host to the International President of Toastmasters International Mohammed Murad, DTM (Distinguished Toastmaster) of Saudi Arabia. He will be paying several courtesy visits to dignitaries, corporations as well as presenting the keynote speech at the opening ceremony.

Toastmasters International is a nonprofit educational organization that teaches public speaking and leadership skills through a worldwide network of meeting locations. Headquartered in Rancho Santa Margarita, California, the organization’s membership exceeds 292,000 in more than 14,350 clubs in 122 countries.

Since 1924, Toastmasters International has helped people of all backgrounds become more confident and competent communicators in public speaking and in professional capacities.
