Toastmasters demonstration meeting set for December 2

PRESS RELEASE – The Public Service and the NIC Toastmasters Clubs invite the general public to a demonstration meeting on Tuesday, 2 December 2014.  This event is being held at the CSA Center in San Souci from 5pm.

Toastmasters International is a nonprofit educational organization that teaches public speaking and leadership skills through a worldwide network of meeting locations.  The organization’s membership exceeds 313,000 in more than 14,650 clubs in 126 countries.

Since 1924, Toastmasters International has helped people of all backgrounds become more confident speakers and leaders. Toastmasters provide a supportive and positive environment where members have the opportunity to overcome their fear in public speaking and presentation skills.

It fosters a “learn by doing” atmosphere where members learn and grow from each other’s positive evaluations and feedback process.

Other benefits include the opportunity to increase one’s confidence, build critical thinking skills, interpersonal and communication skills and become effective listeners, speakers and leaders.

Hence, in commemoration of Toastmasters International 90th anniversary a Demonstration Meeting is being held.  The objective of this event is to sensitize the public interest towards Toastmasters, as well as give them an opportunity to experience a Toastmasters meeting.

A cordial invitation is extended to the general public.
