Three-vehicle accident at Marisule

One person sustained minor injuries from a three-vehicle accident on the Marisule Highway, Gros Islet this morning, Saturday, July 19.

The accident involved a white Mercedes Benz, registration #PG7518 that was being driven by Earl St. Edward of Marisule, Gros Islet; a blue truck, registration #TG3736 driven by Edward Gaston of Bois D’Orange, Gros Islet; and a gold-coloured Escudo driven by Dayne Maurille of Bois D’Orange.

Reports are that Gaston, the truck driver, was heading north when he stopped to pick up a civilian. At that time, the Escudo, which was also heading the same direction, made contact with the truck.

The driver of the Escudo stopped a few metres away and went to speak with the truck driver. Shortly after, the Mercedes, also heading north, ran into the back of the truck.

The driver of the Mercedes sustained minor cuts and bruises.

The accident occurred at about 5:15 a.m.

  1. How about the Benz driver wasn't paying attention since the truck was already sitting there.

    • The driver of the Escudo was following too closely, hence the reason he ran into the back of the truck. The Benz driver wasn't paying attention, probably was looking at the accident vehicle(s), so he then ran into the truck.

    • The 1st & 3rd picture clearly shows the truck was off the road. There is a line next to the rear tyre (like this: -I ) of the truck in the 1st picture and the same line can be seen in the 3rd picture ( -I ), which shows the truck was off to the side of the road. Also, right before the SOLID white line ends, there is a space where some white paint is missing. It can be seen in both the 1st and 3rd pictures.
