UPDATED: Three-vehicle accident near Samaan’s Park

No immediate reports of injuries as three vehicles collided on the Gros Islet Highway around 6 p.m. today.

The accident, which involved a Gros Islet minibus, a Nissan pick-up and a Mazda car, occurred near St. James’s Club Morgan Bay and Samaan’s Park.

An eyewitness alleged: “The Mazda tried to pull out of Samaans Park to head to town, which was illegal, because of the double road markings and a red Nissan pick-up coming from the north ran into the car, sending it into the bus.”

Traffic was diverted in front Samaan’s Park as a result of this accident.

St. Lucia News Online also received report of a second accident nearby at the Choc roundabout involving an SUV and an Audi. No further details on that accident.

  1. I always knew something like that would happen because when coming out of st.james club you are not suppose to take a right turn and there should be a sign erected there also.

  3. There are "no right turn" signs at these gaps. A lot of them does find it far to go up n turn at the top of the hill. Unfortunate but could have been avoided. Obey the signs.

  4. smh idiot driver you doin an outlaw at least take your tome and do it properly uh wait for wen or if no vehicle approaches i my self see that no right turn sign not making sence cause wen you turn left there is no round about to make a turn back to Castries via the proper lane and you have to go all the way to the top of the world area to eventually turn in the road unless you turn in the gas station higher up but then again the law is the law i guess thats why there is not a right turn sign to prevent what just happened
