Saint Lucia had a rough Monday at the CBN/WINLOTT Windward Islands School Games. On the second day of competition in Dominica, Saint Lucia lost all three of its encounters in each of three team sports.
In the morning session at Benjamin’s Park, Portsmouth, Saint Lucia’s girl basketballers went down to the host territory, 76-46. Kameka President scored 18 points, pulled down five rebounds, had an assist and two steals. Young point guard Ramani Lewis added 12 points, grabbed six rebounds and compiled seven steals.
Dominica had Kyla Winston, Melissa Magloire, Vanelcia John and Jade Powell all in double figures.
In the other game played Monday, Grenada blew out St Vincent and the Grenadines 91-4.
In the afternoon session, boys volleyball got underway, with St Vincent and the Grenadines beating Saint Lucia in straight sets, 25-22, 25-16, 25-22. Dominica edged out Grenada 3-2.
In the evening session, it was another win for St Vincent and the Grenadines, and another loss for Saint Lucia, this time in netball. SVG won 46-27, while Grenada beat Dominica.
The competition continues on Tuesday. In boys basketball, Dominica plays St Vincent and the Grenadines, Saint Lucia plays defending champions. In girls volleyball, Saint Lucia plays St Vincent and the Grenadines, Grenada plays Dominica. In boys volleyball, Grenada plays St Vincent and the Grenadines, Saint Lucia goes up against Dominica.
