Three men from Micoud have been formally charged for the discovery of cannabis on board a local vessel called “Sea Empress which was intercepted by police on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 off Maria Islet within the territorial waters of St. Lucia.

Timothy Fontallio, Miguel Emmanuel and Mathew Felix Fanis were all charged for the possession of a controlled drug and possession with the intent to supply a controlled drug.

Police said they have been remanded until Tuesday, December 11, 2012.

Two polythene bags and a round-shaped nylon parcel, each containing plant material suspected to be cannabis were discovered by the officers. The bags were found floating next to the vessel.
